NSF who do not have a Continuing Appointment on
a campus may request a one-time allocation of additional credit
for quarters or semesters taught in other departments on the same
campus in accordance with the following provisions.

Eligible NSF must have a minimum of two years
of credit for courses taught in the department where the additional
allocation is requested at the time the request for additional
credit is made and must have an appointment in the bargaining
unit during the 2005-06 academic year. |

Individual requests for additional credit may be submitted
beginning September 1, 2005. All requests for additional credit
must be received in the campus academic personnel office no
later than November 30, 2005

Additional credit granted pursuant to this Appendix will
be considered equivalent to employment defined in Article
7b.A.2 and 7c.A.1. If additional
credit is granted, the total combined service credit may not
exceed 15 quarters or 10 sememsters.

Courses submitted for consideration must be directly related
to the NSF's current teaching appointment.

5. |
If allocations of service credit are made under the terms
of this side letter, the quarters/semesters allocated may
not be used to support another Continuing Appointment.

The decision of the University to grant or not to grand
additional credit under the terms of this Appendix is at the
sole discretion of the University and is not submect to Article
32--Grievance or Article 33--Arbritration.
Allegations of procedural violations of this appendix shall
be subject to the full grievance and arbritration provisions
of this contract. However, the arbritrator shall have not
have the authority to substitute his/her judgment for that
of the University's with respect to the relevance of the course
credit submitted, or to require the University to allot or
not allot additional course credits.
